Totally agree with the view “guard against What You See Is All There Is bias (WYSIATI)”.
In retros I sometimes see stuff being accepted on face value with a curtailed discussion because looking hard at ourselves isn’t easy or comfortable sometimes and there’s always a drive to cover more ground in the retro, rather than achieve more depth in fewer areas. When that happens it seems that only the symptoms of a problem get treated so it resurfaces again maybe as early as the next sprint with a slightly different presentation but the same fundamental issue.
I’ll now bring WYSIATI into the next retro and see what folks think. Thanks again
